Fishing getting better as temperatures rise

Monday brought on gusty winds, But thoose of us who could
brave the bumpy water found good speckled trout and redfish action
in the back lakes of west galveston bay. The south shore line produced
half limits of trout to four pounds on morning glory Tidal surge soft plastics.
The mid bay reefs, Carancahua and Confederate were a little tough going
until the winds calmed down mid week. East bay has been fair on trout
around fat rat pass,live shrimp under a popping cork and Roach paddle tails
did the trick.
Redfish are showing up in good numbers in Greens lake, key in on
pods of finger mullet over shell and mud in about 4 feet of water. It has been
mid day bite, Bone and chrome top waters have been the my go to bait. The
water temperature Friday evening was sixty six degree's, Bait fish are starting
to move out of the marsh's on the strong out going tides following the full moon.
The spring drum run is in full swing, Jumbo black and white striped monsters up to
forty five pounds being landed near the end of the Texas city dike as well as the
deep hole's along the ship channel. Crabs and cut shad are the best baits, Make sure
your drag is set and hold for a long fight.
